About

Yolanda Rae has worked at the diner since she was 14 years old.

She’s seen it all, and as she says, “If I haven’t seen it coming, I’ve surely seen what it’s done.”

She sits in her trailer after her night shift at the Stop On In and writes letters to single mothers in the local prison.

Some of these girls and women are daughters of her friends. Some are ex-wives of the truckers who pass through town.

Yolanda Rae’s musings and tidbits of life are as precious as sea glass found in the barren side yard of a worn out trailer.

As she tells her Dear Angels, “you are not from my body, but you are from my heart. We are family.”

And she also reminds them that “Mistakes are made, not planned out.”
